  • Ningbo Local Government is Helping Enterprises to Develop

    In Fenghua and Yuyao, local governments are helping enterprises develop by taking a series of measures.

    Qianhong Clothing was founded in January last year and enjoyed the favorable policy of tax rebates since September last year. However, the tax rebates can only be obtained by the end of September this year. The enterprise was once in trouble with fund. Tax collectors in Fenghua helped the enterprise step out of the trouble by offering tax rebates in July of the year.

  • Fresher Welcomed in Ningbo Colleges

    or primary and middle school students, they will meet their new term tomorrow. However, college students have registered for their new term a week ago. Ningbo Institute of Technology, Zhejiang University was the first one welcoming its newcomers. What made this year different from previous years was that most of fresher were born in and after 1990.

    We found that most of newcomers were accompanied by their parents. With the help of students of higher grades, they registered, paid their tuition and received their keys to their bedrooms. They were full of energy, vitality, confidence and expectation.

    A newcomer said , "I will try to enrich myself and cultivate my ability in as many as fields by joining some clubs. "



  • First Fishing Culture Institute Established in Ningbo

    Yesterday morning, Ningbo Fishing Culture Promotion Institute, the first one of its kind in China, was established in Ningbo. Guo Zhengwei, Vice Secretary of Ningbo Municipal Committee of CPC announced the establishment of the institute, and Song Wei, Member of Ningbo Municipal Committee of CPC, and head of the propaganda department spoke at the meeting. Some government officials from the Agriculture Ministry, and Zhejiang Fishing Department attended the meeting.

    Approved by Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Civil Affairs, Ningbo Fishing Culture Promotion Institute is initiated and organized



  • Olympics Boosts Business of Ningbo Companies

    The Ningbo companies have been sticking to innovation and development of new technology. Because of that, they won quite a lot of orders from the just-concluded Beijing Olympics.

    The Yongfa Group of Ningbo, a leading producer of electronic safes in China, successfully won an order of 5 million yuan of safes from the Beijing Olympics Organizing Committee. The safe boxes were installed in the shooting ranges of the Beijing Olympics. It was the largest provider of safes for the Olympics.



  • New Rural Prototype in Ningbo Jiufeng Shan Region

    The construction of a new countryside in Jiufeng Shan region was going on in an orderly manner.  After a year of construction, a new community has taken shape.

    In July last year, approved by the regional Party committee and government, one of the key projects started building, which in a three-year period, will set Jiufeng Shan region into a  first-class example of building a new socialist countryside and the city centre, or the garden of  Beilun.



  • Train Direct From Ningbo to Nanchang Started to Serve

    At 12:55 this Tuesday, the first train direct from Ningbo to Nanchang started to serve in Ningbo Railway Station. According to the railway department, 70% seats were covered on the first train,which implied that the market prospect is bright.

  • Back to School

    September the 1th is the first day of the new term of students. Zhenhai Zhangshi School received thousands of students from other provinces like Sichuan, Henan,Anhui. It is said that many kinds of tuitions will be freed of them and they can share the same treatment with local students.



  • Quake-Relief Personnel Left for Sichuan
    A delegation of 41 members left for Sichuan August 26. They were members of the reconstruction headquarters based in Qingchuan County of Sichuan. Last Friday, the city government held a seeing-off ceremony for these people. At the ceremony, Bayin Chaolu required them to carry on the pragmatic and innovative sprit of Ningbo people in fulfilling the mission and do a superb job in restoring the quake area.


  • Outsourcing Support Policy Made
    The city’s finance bureau and the foreign economy and trade bureau jointly released the enforcement regulations on facilitating the development of outsourcing business. According to the enforcement regulations, the city shall make greater efforts to support the outsourcing business from eight aspects, including giving supporting funds for the funds granted by the central government, development of outsourcing bases, construction of public service platform, etc.


  • Yan Xincai Donated Piano to Ningbo Kindergarten

    Mr. Yan Xincai, and his wife Zhao Youfei, both honorary citizens of Ningbo visited Beilun Xinlei Kindergarten on August 28, 2008.

    Mr. Yan and his wife attended the opening ceremony and they have brought a special gift for the kids there--- 12 pianos worth 216,000 yuan.



  • 10th Auto Expo Opens

    The 10th Ningbo International Automobile Expo, an event to run for four days, was inaugurated at the conference and exhibition center last Thursday. As this Auto Expo is open on the eve of the raise of automobile consumption tax, how to cope with the tax raise becomes a heated topic of the exhibitors and the would-be buyers.

    The Expo gathers about 40 brands of cars. More than 300 cars are exhibited



  • Ningbo International School has moved to Jiangdong

    Ningbo International School has moved to Jiangdong and re-opened on 25th August 2008. Now the closest International school to Ningbo city centre, NBIS has come of age with enrolments well over 100 students. This is a substantial increase from the school's modest opening enrolment of 6 students in the Zhuangshi campus on 1st September 2005.

     

    Mr John Turner, the foundation Principal of Ningbo International School (NBIS), has applauded the development of the new campus, saying it is an outstanding example of a modern international school. Mr Turner said that the new NBIS has outstanding buildings, grounds and resources, but most importantly, NBIS has maintained its agreement with the South Australian Education Department to use their world class, fully accredited, internationally respected curriculum.



  • China Merchants sees no Ningbo Port IPO this year

    HONG KONG, Sept 2 (Reuters) - China Merchants Holdings (International) Co Ltd (0144.HK: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), the nation's largest port operator, said the listing of China Ningbo Port Group will not proceed this year due to weak market situation.

    It said the port group needs more time for preparation.

    "It's good news since the current market situation in Hong Kong and China is unfavourable," China Merchants Chairman Fu Yuning told reporters on Tuesday.

    China Merchants, which commands more than one-third of the China market, paid 847.3 million yuan earlier this year for a 5.4 percent stake in Ningbo Port, the operator of China's eastern port of Ningbo.
